UCAN: Uplands Claremont Area Neighbors
Board of Directors Election
The 2025 election of UCAN Board members was held from February 18-28. These seven candidates received the most votes and were elected (listed in alphabetical order):

Alan Levy
Sophie McNeil
Doug Sovern
Paul Valenstein
There were 144 valid ballots cast. This represents 55% of the 264 households eligible to vote.
Special thanks to UCAN’s member-volunteers who validated each ballot and carefully tabulated the votes: Holly Coates-Bash, Rick Marcus, and Rhonda Donato. Thank you for devoting five hours to this important task. Maintaining confidentiality of email votes is tricky — these three individuals are the only ones to have seen open ballots.
A special thanks also to the candidates who were not elected, but who stepped forward to run, raise issues, and give members a choice.
The new board will meet soon and choose officers, as described in UCAN’s bylaws. We urge everyone to help our elected board serve the neighborhood in the year ahead.
